Comments:

This classic formula is the main formula for tonifying blood.  Si Wu Jiu is composed of two groups of herbs:  the “blood of blood” herbs Shu Di and Bai Shao, which are the main blood tonifying herbs; and the “Qi of Blood” herbs Dang Gui and Chuan Xiong, which are responsible for moving the blood and resolving the blood stasis which usually occurs with blood deficiency.  Si Wu Jiu is a major formula for regulating the menses.*
